KISS GRADATION POLISHES KIT DEMO & REVIEW

December is the month of many parties for the holidays.  I know it can get pretty hectic with invitations from friends, families and co-workers.  I especially don't have any time
or extra money to get my nails done this month, with all the shopping
I need to do for Christmas presents.

Last month, I received the Kiss Gradation Polishes Set complimentary from
Influenster to try out.  It says on the packaging "3 Easy Steps".
This set comes with 3 monochromatic polishes that you can
apply to create an ombre look with a splash of glitter.

On the Kiss USA website they offer four shades:
Film Noir, Exposure, Big Break and Freeze Frame.
The set I have is the Film Noir, which all the polishes are
in the "Shades of Gray" family…lol!

Here is a step-by-step demo of how I applied it on my nails:

First and foremost, I recommend to apply a base coat on your nails before layering all these colors.  This will help the colors stand out and last longer,
as well as protecting your nails from getting stained.
I already applied a base coat.

The instructions on the back of the box are easy to read and simple to follow.

STEP 1- Apply two coats of Step1 polish, let it dry.

This formula has lots of shimmer and applies on nice and smoothly.

Here is Step 1 completed.

Step 2 - Apply one coat of Step2 polish on tip of nail only; approximately 1/3 of nail.
Step2 polish is a darker shade of gray with shimmers in it.
The look is starting to come together.

STEP 3- Before Step2 polish is dry, apply one coat of Step3 polish on top of 1/2 of nail to blend colors.  Let it dry completely.

Step3 polish is another shade of gray with tons of glitter and sparkles in it.
This color will help blend the first two colors together.

And tada!! Here is the final look:

I just love how these polishes created this fancy ombre look on my nails, and with hardly much to it!  This set is completely easy to use and is inexpensive.  Prices can range from $5.99-$6.97 at your local Wal-Mart or Target.  This look lasted just about 6 days for me before I had to take off the polish and redo my nails.

I highly recommend this remarkable set!  It is an exceptional addition to my nail polish collection.  I cannot wait to try out the other colors!  I know I will be using this quite frequently throughout this very social winter season.

I have also filmed and uploaded a video demo using this kit on
my You Tube Channel. Check it out here!

Glam Meet Up at Emma Jane with San Diego Style Bloggers

Last Friday, November 15, 2013, I attended a San Diego Style Bloggers event at the Emma Jane boutique in La Jolla, California.  This event was a Glam Meet Up for San Diego bloggers and vloggers to come together for an evening of beauty, fashion, networking and, of course, food and drinks.

When I first walked in, my eyes widened with excitement! The French-chic ambiance was just so alluring.  I felt like this was every girly-girl's dreamland, or at least could be my dreamland.  ;)  Everywhere I glanced, there was a charming display of all things beautiful.

Food & Drinks were provided by companies Voila and Beaming.

Entrepreneurs, Jenn & Jess, are the admirable owners of Emma Jane
 Jewelry, scarves, handbags, perfumes, and
sophisticated, yet, daily wearable pieces can be found throughout the shop.

Jenn & Jess showcases and supports local San Diego designers.  Featured at this Glam event,
was La Jolla based company, Love Tatum Jewelry

I easily wanted everything in the shop! Bloggers had a fun time shopping and
looking at unique pieces all around.

Kristine, keautyizskindeep, is carrying a beautiful mustard yellow handbag from the boutique.
I had the lovely pleasure of meeting Co-Founder of SD Style Bloggers, Paulina of Lil Bits of Chic.

Next time you are in the La Jolla or Mission Hills area, stop by Emma Jane. You are surely to be captivated. I absolutely was, and did bring home a little piece of the dreamland with me. =)

Alcone at Home: Perfect Eyeliner Pen Review & Giveaway

Wearing eyeliner is part of my daily makeup routine.  My favorite type of liners to use are the liquid eyeliner pens, preferably with fine brush tips.  I purchased the Perfect Eyeliner Pen by Alcone at Home, a few months ago for myself, and it definitely falls into my favorites category, alongside my Dolly Wink liquid eyeliner.  This midnight black color is quite opaque.

With this eyeliner, you can create both thin or thick clean lines. It is smudge-proof and stays put.  It can last even longer with primer, especially if you have oily eyelids.  Here are the swatches:

Here's a clip of me rubbing the swatches. It really does stay on for hours!

This is definitely one of my most loved and used daily eyeliners.  I would love to share this perfect line brush pen with you by doing a giveaway.   :)  You have a chance to win your very own Alcone at Home eyeliner!

Review: Wet n Wild Mega Last Lip Color

Searching for a new long-lasting lipstick, I came across Wet n Wild's Mega Last Lip Color at my local CVS.  Wet n Wild has always been a brand within my makeup collection.  The Mega Last Lip Color retails for $1.99 each.  Lucky for me, these lip colors were on sale for 2/$3.

These lip colors claim to be matte-finish, hydrating and last 4 hours.  On Wet n Wild's website, they offer 26 colors.  At my CVS they had 12 colors.  I picked up 4 colors:  Bare It All, Mocha-licious, Muave Outta Here and Wine Room.

Here are the swatches:

I have been using these lip colors for over a week now, and I highly recommend them.  As far as lasting for 4 hours, they absolutely can if you are not planning on eating or drinking anything during that time period.  After eating and drinking, I noticed the color on the middle part of my lips faded, but just a bit.  I had to pretty much reapply only
on that area. The rest of the lips kept the color on well.

I would say that they are definitely matte-finished and creamy when applying it to your lips.  Initially, it feels generously rich.  However, about over 30 mins after application, my lips don't feel as hydrated as when I first applied the color.  My lips would start to feel dry in the outer corners and middle part of my lips.  It also could be that I have always had "dry" lips.  I usually have to use chapsticks or lip balms.  If you don't have this problem, it may not be an issue for you.  This formula feels considerably more hydrating than a lot of other brands I have tried that states to be long wearing.
This could be from the Coenzyme 10 and Vitamins A&E ingredients.

The color does transfer when you kiss your hand or loved one on the cheek,
yet I love how it never stuck to my teeth at all.  My favorite color of the four is Wine Room.

Overall, I enjoy and appreciate this product from Wet n Wild.  For $1.99, you get a very opaque, creamy, matte-finished, pretty long wearing lip color.  What more could you
ask for?  I will definitely be purchasing more colors from the Mega Last Lip Color Line.  :)

NY FASHION WEEK: JENNY PACKHAM SPRING 2014 COLLECTION MAKEUP LOOK WITH ALCONE AT HOME

September 10, 2013

As fashion designer, Jenny Packham, celebrates her 25th anniversary this year, she also exhibits her lovely Spring 2014 Collection at MBFW Studio.

I can best describe this years collection with these words:
  elegant, luxurious, cascading, and sparkling.
Her collection revealed long beautiful dresses, in which some reminded me of the 1800s.  The dresses had lots of movement and sophistication to them.
These dresses seemed totally appropriate for resort, event and bridal party wear.

Photos courtesy of mbfashionweek.com & fabsugar.com

Along with these enchanting dresses, Jenny Packham's models wore almost bare faces.  The makeup looked very minimal and natural.
To simulate this look, you will need a flawless canvas.

Apply Alcone At Home's Perfect Coverage Botanical Foundation in the
shade that best matches your skin tone.

Keep the eyeshadows to a nude or natural shade.

Lastly, apply Il Makiage Lipstick in a Tube in the color Eight to your lips.
Also, dab a hint of this same color onto your cheeks.

Now let your hair down and add some tight curls to it!
