So there's a lot of hype about Korean bb creams all over You Tube. My impression of bb creams is that it is very much like a tinted moisturizer. I only wear foundation on occasion. Daily I usually just apply moisturizer, concealer under eyes and on any acne or dark spots, then I set with powder. I live in southern California, so foundation makes my face feel heavy and sometimes sticky in the year round heat we have. When I first started hearing about bb creams, I thought this would be perfect for me. It would be like a moisturizer and foundation in one step!
BB creams can only be found in asian market places or online. I was lucky to have found some at my local asian shopping place called Marukai. My sister-in-law was with me. I told her about all the hype. So we both went home with a tube of Missa BB Cream in No. 21(Light Beige). I actually just bought the 20ml tube($12), just in case it doesn't work out for me. On the box, it's printed that this cream "helps lighten skin tone by healing visible wrinkles and blemishes with excellent skin-cover".
I have been using the Missha BB cream perfect cover for about 5 days now. I will say that it does have a medium coverage on me, and in that department, it works well. Gives me great coverage. It doesn't feel heavy at all. I still need to apply moisturizer before applying bb cream however, because my skin still tends to feel dry if I don't. I have combination dry/oily skin. Then I set it with my face powder. I do love the fact that it has SPF 42! One thing I do want to mention about this cream, is that it does list parabens in its ingredients, which have been found in breast cancer tumors. Please do your research for more information about parabens.
Overall, I would recommend Missha BB creams to anyone who's looking for a sheer to medium coverage with additional skin benefits. I have not encountered any problems with my skin from this product. I have not been using it long enough to determine whether it's whitening or anti-wrinkle properties are effective. I guess I will have to wait and see. I will continue to use and incorporate this product into my skincare/make-up regimen. And I do intend to purchase the full size tube when I run out of this one! =)
