NY FASHION WEEK: CONCEPT KOREA: BIG PARK SPRING 2014 COLLECTION MAKEUP LOOK WITH ALCONE AT HOME

September 9, 2013

This year at the MBFW Stage, Concept Korea presented four designers:  Kaal Suktae, Choiboko, Beyond Closet and Big Park.  This was the 8th launching by Concept Korea at New York Fashion Week.

Park Youn Soo of Big Park is a talented designer.  His fashion designs stood out to me simply because they looked much more wearable yet fashion-forward.  His collection presented trendy A-line skirts with bold prints and black/white leather jackets.

The makeup for this collection appeared to be using only one color- Coral.  Models strutted the runway with coral eyes, coral cheeks and coral lips.  The eyebrows appeared soft and the cheeks were definitely contoured.

NY FASHION WEEK: TRACY REESE SPRING 2014 COLLECTION MAKEUP USING ALCONE AT HOME

Reputable fashion designer, Tracy Reese launched another exceptional collection on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at the Studio during MB Fashion Week.  Her collection made my jaw drop to the floor! The whole show in its entirety blew me away! The fun, upbeat music for starters, took me to a vacation state of mind.  It brought me to unwind and a mood of relaxation, as my head bobbed to the lively beat.
As the models began to walk the runway, the first detail I noticed were the black swirly tattoos, most of floral design. I thought it added an edgy and modern touch.  Moreover, the apparel reminded me of resort wear.  Her collection entailed mixed feminine prints and many textures.  The fabrics looked comfortable and moveable. Some ensembles were coordinated with gladiator sandals.  It was awe-inspiring!

Tracy Reese presented her models with flirty winged eyeliner and inner corner highlight. To create a playful winged line use an angled eyeliner brush with Make Up For Ever Aqua Creamliner in Matte Black.

Generously highlight the inner corners of the eyes with Ben Nye Creme Neutralizing Crayon in the color Ultra Lite.

Conclude this look with a pink cheek color and glossy pink lip:)

NY FASHION WEEK: ACHIEVE KATYA LEONOVICH RUNWAY MAKEUP LOOK WITH ALCONE AT HOME

On Saturday, September 7, 2013, European designer, Katya Leonovich launced her Spring 2014 Collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.  As with her previous collections, I thought this new release was entirely breathtaking! Her designs comprised of multi-colored/water colors, ruching, ruffles, and lavish soft pieces.

A part from the fashion designs, the models hairstyle was a distinctive touch.  Models wore their hair up with strands of bangs fallen over the sides and front of their faces.

While the fabrics had much to express, the makeup worn looked classical and modest.

Achieve this flawless complexion with Make Up For Ever HD Foundation and apply with a Beauty Blender.   Next, line the eyes with Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes Waterproof Pencil in Matte Black.  Apply a Obsessive Complusive Cosmetics Lip Tar in Interlace.      Remember to keep it effortless.

The models wore mostly nude or natural lip colors and their cheeks contoured with peachy earth tones.  But on the catwalk, it was all about the eyes!!

Recreate this super winged, cat-eye look with Alcone at Home's smudge-proofed, Perfect Eyeliner Pen and add definition and contour to the eyes with black eyeshadow in #9.

Of course voluminous false eyelashes were in play on the runway! But you can achieve long and glamorous lashes with this combo.  Apply a coat of Make Up For Ever Aqua Smoky Lash Mascara Waterproof Black.  While the mascara is still wet, apply Alcone's Fast Lash Eyelash Extender to the tips of your lashes.  Apply a 2nd coat of Make Up For Ever Aqua Smoky Lash Mascara Waterproof Black.

Finish this look off with a natural lip and cheek color for your skin tone!

NY FASHION WEEK SPRING 2014 COLLECTIONS: MARISSA WEBB INSPIRED LOOK

On September 5, 2013 at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Studio, Korean American fashion designer, Marissa Webb,  unveiled her Spring 2014 Collection on the runway.  Her alluring designs comprised of shiny fabrics of both neutral and accent colors, shorter A-Line skirts and dresses that were structured but appeared comfy and wearable.  Check out the Official MBFW You Tube Video:

Many of the models sported their hair down and parted to the side.  The makeup appeared to be simple but elegant.  The lipstick colors stood out as either a muted peach or pink and red. Their faces were noticeably well defined with a natural blushing to their cheeks.  The eyeshadows seemed to consist of light matte colors which brought out the colors of their natural eyes, which was visibly lined.  The eyebrows looked prim and arched.

The entire runway show was an amazing sight.  I thoroughly enjoyed it and was immediately impassioned, hopeful to one day see it live.  But for now, I am having fun being inspired.

MY FALL MAKEUP LOOK 2013

The first thoughts that come to mind when I think of a Fall Makeup Look, are the colors of fallen leaves of the trees in my neighborhood and the beautiful fall sunsets.  Fall season never fails to take me back to my childhood when life was much simpler.  With these thoughts in mind, here is what I came up with...

Check out the Alcone At Home Makeup Line to help achieve this look:
Perfect Eyeshadows in the colors ONE, SEVEN & EIGHT.
Creamy Lipsticks in the color SIX.

From Summer to Fall Makeup

Fall in Southern California

Oh my, I can't believe August is on the verge of ending and we will be in the month of September in just a few days!  2013 slow down please! I went to the mall the other day, and Halloween covered the shelves of many stores, along with sweaters and jackets, hinting that Fall is around the corner.
Since I live in Southern California, I know the weather change isn't going to be as extreme as other parts of the world, but it will be a little cooler;)

My Summer to Fall Make-up Transitions usually consists of the following 4 practices:

       1.   Matte Face:  During these last summer months, I have been all over BB Creams.  It's lightweight, has SPF, and covers most blemishes on my face.  BB Creams worked well with my skin this summer, but as fall is fast approaching, my face needs something less dewy and more matte.  I usually just add a powder to set my bb cream and/or foundation.  This one locks in my bb cream & keep my face matte.

      2.   Bold eyeliner-  I love to darken up my eyeliner in the Fall.  When the nights become longer,  I am more apt to wear a winged eyeliner.  A Cat-Eye is appealing to me, especially on a night out on the town;)

        3.   Red or Plum Lips:  I just love the look of dark red lips.  Red Lips remind me of Gwen Stefani.  Her Fall 2013 Apparel collection appears to consists of Plaids and dark colors.  Red Lips will definitely tie in with the upcoming Fall Fashion.

4.  Fall color Nail polishes:   Time to put aside my neon and pastel polishes.
My go-to Fall Nail Colors are usually black, gray, matte orange, and red.
However, I am loving the color purple on nails for the Fall.
Currently I am sporting black and an accent purple.
